Hi and welcome! This site is being developed by me, Johan Basberg.

I always thought sharing materials or node setups as images wasn't great, so I decided to do something about it. That's why I created the Material Sharing add-on and this website, making it easy to share, copy and paste Blender materials.

I'm hoping to build a community here where we can all share and find materials. It's taken a lot of time to build everything, so please spread the word!

The more we share, the better it gets for everyone!

I have no intention of making money from the shared materials. Hopefully, if this site becomes popular, I could get the domain fee covered by donations.

Well, first I would love to see a lot of users registering and using the site. Then, later—if this site becomes popular—we can add more features.

For example, I have been thinking about how to handle shared materials that require images. This could be something contributors such as you and me, could sell on this site.

Maybe other features will be suggested by you and our fellow Blenders.

For a Material or shared Nodes to appear in the list, they have to be approved first. This means approving each tag, validating that the Material works in current release of Blender, and to approve the image submitted with the material.

This is the responsiblilty of the Admins on this site.

You can become an Admin you first need to contribute materials to the site. Before becoming an admin, you will become a Trusted member. For now, however, I'm not sure when exactly a member becomes trusted or an admin.
